The action takes place in 1976 during the Cold War. The player takes on the role of a manager who is tasked with constructing a secret underwater research station. Its goal is to develop human cloning technology and conduct experiments on marine fauna and flora. All this research has a military purpose: its purpose is to give our superiors a military advantage over their rivals. However, achieving success will not be easy. There is a supernatural evil lurking in the darkness of the sea abyss, just waiting for us to stumble. Surviving the Abyss is a strategy in which we manage an underwater base. While playing, we have to expand it with new structures, obtain raw materials and take care of our crew. The player must plan the development of the base, construct new segments and create supporting infrastructure, including: tunnels and cables supplying electricity. The ocean floor is very diverse, which makes expansion difficult and often forces the construction of subsequent sections of the base vertically. We can also organize long-distance expeditions in submarines, aimed at reaching rare raw materials. The gameplay is enriched by a system of random events that force players to quickly react to crisis situations. The fun is diversified by the presence of supernatural forces near the base. They are afraid of light, so the development of lighting systems and ensuring their good technical condition play a key role, as any failure may result in the destruction of a section of the base and the devouring of part of the crew. The game only offers a single-player mode. Surviving the Abyss has fully three-dimensional graphics. ..::TECH-DATA::..
