For a quarter of a century, Doomsday Nights have been held in America – annual nocturnal "holidays" during which almost any crime, including rape and murder, is allowed to be committed. Eighteen years ago, Charlie Roman (Elizabeth Mitchell) lost her entire family in this way. Now she sits in the Senate, is running for president of the United States and declares that she will do her best to cancel the nightmarish celebration. Since Charlie has an excellent chance of winning, the ruling New Founding Fathers of America party sends mercenaries to kill a woman on another Doomsday Night.
