A place that stood for something, once; The world might have sucked, but at least there was an alternative, and a naive hope that the world would become more like the internet, rather than the internet becoming as bad as the world, followed by both the world and the internet becoming worse, still, than even that. A time when cryptocurrency was just the tokens you bought using the Moneygram phone at CVS so you could buy shrooms on The Silk Road, before the Dread Pirate Roberts aka Ross William Ulbricht was tracked down by the unelected, permanent secret government of the former American republic and it’s colonies and given 134 years in a CMU, fascist jargon for the modern-day oubliette used by the feds in the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba colony and now …Illinois? basically for making a better craigslist and using his platform to spread his moderately insightful Ron-Paul-era libertarian philosophy - one that, like RFK Jr.’s presidential campaign - had been deprogramming Americans from the left-right red-blue dichotomy used by the CIA to control US election outcomes post 1963. You read that right. I wasn’t alive for it either, but much like the internet, there was actually a time when the UNITED STATES actually stood for something. It didn’t start out that way, nor is being an American in any way a source of pride today, but THERE WAS A TIME. A time that instead of shoving 100-Billion-Dollar cluster bomb shipments down taxpayers unwilling throats to escalate a civil war in the former Soviet Union which, mind you, the US is explicitly responsible for the existence of - Americans only begrudgingly involved ourselves in foreign wars, and PRAISED THE SOVIETS AND COMMUNIST CHINA FOR FIGHTING NAZIS before joining them as ALLIES in battle. While nobody knew it at the time, and the first symptom of it would only become visible to the American people decades later, and nearly a century before it was studied and documented to the satisfaction of American and even most foreign scholars, and will never be acknowledged by the present government for reasons that will become clear momentarily, but the America that went to war in WWII’s European theatre would be the final, but most historically significant, casualty of that valiant battle to eradicate the virus of fascism from the face of the Earth. What returned was a Trojan Horse, carrying in its veins the poison spores of the Nazi Reich’s invasive tentacular fascism that would, with the speed of a serpent’s jaw upon its victim, intertwine itself so deeply and thoroughly within and throughout the victorious American Republic’s fragile institutions of democratic governance, which had not yet reached maturity and had only sprouted the first buds of actual representative governance a few decades prior, the first of them to bloom being woman’s right to vote, the last of them the black vote and civil rights act. No new bud would emerge once the infection was in place, and many of existing buds would never blossom or fall off the vine altogether. The cause for this would not be known for many years to come, a reflection of the Devilishness of the Nazi virus’s greatest triumph; Officially, there is no such thing as the 4th Nazi Reich. But, as has been conclusively and exhaustively proven by the great patriots, humanists and scholars of our time - and can be shown to you, dear reader, if you are ready for a truth so heinous and yet so evident in its relation to all that you have seen with your own eyes and contemplated privately - explaining so much of the world around you that at once, as I too and still do feel upon my own bittersweet enlightenment as to the truth of our country; At once devastated and betrayed, enraged, infuriated, energized and eyes opened - having no choice but to act upon in a burst of selfless revolutionary valor and clarity as to the task at hand most heavily implied by that foulest and truest of truths. “Officially”, there is no such thing as the 4th Reich of the Nazi menace; But if that were true, it would’ve been no trick at all - much less the most insidious and devilish trick that has long deceived us all I have described.
