Textbook in PDF format This book helps readers understand the basic concepts of electronic circuits. The emphasis is on amplifiers, filters and audio circuits. Other applications such as oscillators, multivibrators, logic and control circuits are also included. Although basic concepts are presented with the necessary theoretical background, the author uses descriptions of basic electronic circuits in a very compact form and the circuit functions are described in a very accessible manner. The purpose of this book is to provide comprehensive and compact information on the concepts and devices in the field of basic electronics. Most used and important circuits are discussed, with an explanation of their functioning, from the practical point of view. However, to understand how circuits work, certain general theoretical background and knowledge are needed. So, the book contains such concepts as complex numbers, Fourier and Laplace transform and Z-transform. Though these are high mathematics concepts, they are used here in the most simplified form. For example, the Laplace transform is used here as a tool that simplifies and not complicates things. In fact, the only thing that the beginner really should understand is that the “s” variable of the Laplace transform can be treated as the differentiating operator. This allows us to define the transfer function of linear devices. As for the discrete-time, digital signal processing, the Z-transform is used. However, the only relevant property of the transform used here is the relation between the one-period delay and z?1 operator. For many of the discussed circuits, the computer simulations of the transient processes and the frequency response are shown.
