Previously, NoSQL referred to “non-relational” or “non-SQL”, but it actually means “Not only SQL”. This is because NoSQL systems commonly support SQL-like query languages and/or include relational (SQL) databases in integrated polyglot architectures. Because NoSQL is mainly aimed at non-relational data models when the flexibility of data resource management and process speed, instead of data redundancy, are the major concerns, NoSQL approaches are rather artistic without restriction rules, depending upon the nature of the target applications. Thus, there is no NoSQL “standard”. Each NoSQL system has its unique user-interface environment. Unlike relational databases and SQL which can be understood through learning one typical database management system, NoSQL platforms differ one from another in many aspects, and there is no single “typical” NoSQL platform for learning diversified NoSQL applications.
