Robert Reed - Sanctuary (Virtual Surround - FLAC) [ADHDerby] Virtual Surround is a technology which allows you to listen to music, watch movies, or play video games with surround effects using any set of two channel stereo headphones. I'm a big surround music fan and made this album so I can listen it in surround through headphones on a portable player. The sources of this release are the surround versions of the tracks ripped from the DVD-A release. I've converted them to virtual surround with Creative's BlasterX Acoustic Engine Pro. Using state-of-the-art technology, it gives an enhanced virtual 7.1 channel surround sound experience with regular stereo headphones. He went on to learn how to play not just one, but all the instruments featured on the album. Released in July 2014, Sanctuary is the fruition of his desire to create an album in the style of Tubular Bells; As a multi-instrumentalist, Reed composed "Sanctuary," and has played all the instruments, except for guest vocalists, Synergy Vocals and without any synthesizers or sampling, he wanted everything to be real. For those not familiar with Robert Reed, he is the leader and keyboardist of Magenta, a well established progressive rock group. He also created the incredible debut release by Kompendium. While Reed owned all the guitars and other instrumentation used on Sanctuary, he needed to hire the larger percussion instruments, like timpani's and tubular bells. By no means is Sanctuary a rehash of Tubular Bells, it is much more of a tribute. Reed worked hard to compose melodies that stand on their own, while still capturing the emotion conveyed through Oldfield's playing that replaced lyrics on Tubular Bells. Reed used voices singing vowels combined with nonsensical words instead of lyrics. The result is an intriguing piece of emotional instrumental music.
